Review – ‘Tied and True’ by Marie Harte

Blurb

Lindsay Riordan has had it with the rumors and innuendo that dog her professional steps. Being born a blond should not automatically designate her the office bimbo. So when she overhears the sexy new office wunderkind spouting untruths about her, she decides on some payback.

Jared Hunter is a man on a mission, but his mission is proving to be a lot harder to complete than he’d expected. He couldn’t have anticipated that in the course of finding the truth, he’d wake up to find himself tied naked and spread-eagled on his bed, and that the person behind his restraint would be none other than the woman he’s been lusting after since he first saw her. A woman who’s got vengeance on the brain. What’s a guy to do when he’s fit to be tied?

Review

In the first novella in the Satyr’s Myst series, logistic specialist Lindsay Riordan is shocked and angered to hear Jared, the new top salesman, spreading sexual rumors about her to the two biggest, sexist jerks in the IT department. Though she secretly has a crush on Jared, she wants to be taken seriously at work and has refused his offers to dinner. Office romances never work, after all.
As an undercover security expert, Jared Hunt suspects a few guys of fraud, and he’s tried everything to get them to take him into their confidence. Only the lies he spread about Lindsay seemed to work, but he never expected Lindsay to overhear the cruel gossip. After he catches someone breaking into his house, he finds himself knocked unconscious and tied to his own bed. His anger flees when he realizes Lindsay is to blame, and he yearns for the sexual payback she has planned for him.
I love this fun, erotic story. Lindsay and Jared are awesome characters. She’s dealt with her fair share of sexual harassment over the years, and she’s finally had enough. Jared is so freakin’ hot and yummy, but he’s also protective and understanding, which makes for a perfect hero. The attraction between them sizzles, and the love that quickly grows between them is strong and believable.
The story is well written with a HFN ending, but it’s easy to see the HEA coming up.
5 Stars
