Review – ‘Talson’s Test’ by Marie Harte

Blurb

Zaret Talson 'Or Fal-Z-knows what he wants, and it isn't a mate. But when he's besieged by dreams of a sexy woman scorching the skies when she's not entwined with him and his brother, he fears the dreams are a sign of his future.

His brother looks forward to the threesome-all the fun without the commitment. Z wants to run the other way, because he'll be tied to her if she proves to be his. He's foreseen it.

Adri 'San Fal may look human, but like Z, she's Otra, an alien species not altogether welcome on Earth. Part of a particular clan of Otra who can handle fire, she's blonde, unlike the majority of her kind. Hiding in plain sight is easy-until her past finds her. Desperate to escape, she runs into the one man destined to be her doom, or her salvation.

Review

In the second novella in the Talson’s Temptation series, the year is 2109, and the humans of Earth had made contact with the Otra aliens years earlier. The Otra are now living and working on the planet, but there’s prejudice between the two groups.
Zaret Talson ‘Or Fal has been having the hottest dreams of a woman he’s never met, but therein lies two problems: he’s waking up with his body and sheets literally on fire, and his brother is also having sex with the woman in his dream. Though Z fears he’s going through the Testing—an Otra ritual where a male finds the female he’s suppose to bond with for the rest of his life—he’s determined to stay single, but his plans go awry after his shipping mogul father sends him to Earth to manage a problem with the family business.
Adri ‘San Fal is a rare, powerful female Otra who can control fire, and she’s now living on Earth after fleeing from her controlling but well-meaning family. But then her pursuers find her, and she flees again, only to run into Z and his brother Val. She’s been having sexual dreams about both men, but Z is the one her heart calls to. She’s going through Selection—an Otra ritual where a female is ready to find a mate and/or have children—and she can’t deny her need any longer.
Z and Adri are stubborn, highly sexed characters with lots of passion between them. I enjoyed how they learned to trust one another and their own feelings. The sex scenes were scorching—I especially loved the threesome scenes—and how the H/h’s lust quickly but believably turned to love. The next book in the series is set up, and I’m anxious to read it.
4 Stars
