Review – ‘Cushion’ by Tamela Miles

Blurb

Natalie Kliebert finally has the perfect life she spent years dreaming of. She's on the fast track to her fantasy-come-true career as a therapist. If she can help pop star Billy Chambers, it will be her greatest achievement and even sweeter than earning an "A" grade.

The last thing Billy Chambers wants is anyone's help, especially when he doesn't see a single thing wrong with his life. When bossy Natalie becomes his court-appointed personal therapist, sparks fly from day one. Annoyance was never so arousing. Hooking up should be easy, but an undercurrent of evil is coming for Natalie, which may force her to reveal her deepest secret.

The problems of their pasts are no match for today's demons. Natalie and Billy must come together and be the allies they were meant to be in a supernatural fight that may cost them their lives.Natalie Kliebert finally has the perfect life she spent years dreaming of. Review

Carin Bell knows her life is over when she’s standing outside her fiery car with her body still inside. She’s now a ghost, and the only thing she wants to do is find the man who hurt her years earlier. Billy is still the same self-centered man she remembers, and she finally tells him what she feels, hoping her words would impact his future for the better. Though she’s dead, Carin returns to life with a new name and face. As Natalie, she’s no longer the hurt, angry woman she was, and she jumps at the chance to see Billy again.
Billy Chambers is a former teen pop star, but now he’s more famous as a womanizing drunk in the tabloids. He’s trying to turn his life around—thanks to Carin tying him to a bed and railing her anger on him—but he can’t give up the alcohol, at least not until he meets Natalie, his sexy but strict court-ordered therapist. But when a demon targets Natalie and him for their inner light, Billy realizes there’s more to Natalie than he ever thought possible.
I really liked Carin/Natalie. Carin had a difficult life and allowed self-loathing to control her, but she made a better, healthier life for herself as Natalie. Billy had allowed stardom to go to his head, but beneath all his bravado, he despised his life and was suffering inside. Romance bloomed slowly between them, but it was backed by friendship, trust, and understanding. They were really good characters and deserved their HEA.
I enjoyed the author’s style, the hot sex scenes, and the descriptive spiritual worlds she created. Even though I’ve read a lot of paranormal romances, I haven’t read many reincarnation stories, so this novella was a nice change of pace. I definitely liked it!
5 Stars
