Pitch Wars is a No-Go

After much consideration, I've decided not to enter in this year's Pitch Wars contest. I found out about the contest three weeks ago so I wrote a query, blurb, pitch and synopsis in preparation (thank you, Pitch Wars, for making me finally do this).
The Twitter 'Ask the Mentor' session yesterday shined light on the contest, how it works and manuscript requirements. Unfortunately, my Adult romantic suspense manuscript is probably too short for the contest (especially since one of my hopeful mentors said she'd likely reject it due strictly to word count, not the quality of the work) and I don't have time to plot, rewrite and write another eight thousand or more polished, edited words to the MS in a week's time. So, because of that, I'm dropping out but I definitely plan to enter next year.
Good luck to all the authors and mentors who are taking part in the event.
Keep up the good work! :) :)
