Review
We met Alise at the end of the first book. She’s an elf
in Santa’s workshop who distrusts Santa’s girlfriend, Becky. In book 2, she
learns to trust Becky and they become friends/allies against Captain Superior
who wants to steal a magical device from the North Pole/Workshop. The main
character is this story was Alise, and then Becky. The men played a second
string role—Becky’s man Kris (Santa) and Alise’s man Sir Richard—which took me
by surprise.
I wonder if there will be a book 3 because I have a few
unanswered questions. To not give too much of the story away, Becky did
something Kris probably won’t approve of and they need to discuss it (if I was
Kris, I’d be very mad and hurt).
I received an ARC from the author and he pre-warned me
about a few typos and formatting issues in the story. It should be fixed in the
final ebook copy. Other than that, the story flowed well and I enjoyed JW’s
third person narrative.
I look forward to reading more stories by this author.
4 Stars.
