Review – ‘Airport Christmas’ by Judy Moore

Blurb

The first story in this new, sweet holiday series.
Who would ever think that being stranded at the Denver airport for three days over Christmas could be fun? It turns out to be the adventure of a lifetime for thirteen-year- old Jack and his younger siblings Ethan and Lily who are traveling alone from their mother’s in San Diego to their father’s in Florida. Jack is a bit of a wheeler-dealer who is thrilled to be out from under parental supervision, Ethan a comic book enthusiast and caricature artist, and Lily a budding matchmaker who won’t take no for an answer. Together, they learn to fend for themselves in an adult world and bring Christmas cheer – and even love – to other stranded passengers.

Review

I usually don’t read young adult stories but this one just seemed really cute so I thought I’d give it a try. I was very pleasantly surprised.
Jack, Ethan and Lily are three kids flying from their mom’s house in San Diego, CA to their dad’s house in Ft. Myers, FL but the plane stops in Denver, CO during a snowstorm just days before Christmas. They were supposed to just change planes but the airport closed down, stranding them. With little money and no parents around, these three kids act like, well, kids but they also grow up, learn responsibility and enrich the lives of the adults they meet. After all, when you have love and your family, you can do anything if you stick together.
This is definitely a fun, heartwarming story adults and kids alike can enjoy.

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000026_00030]

My world changed at the stroke of midnight. No, I’m not Cinderella—she can suck it.

When fate stepped in and waved its magic wand, my destiny, or what I thought was my destiny had been altered. With a new found energy, I decided things needed to change.

This is my time. My turn to take life by the balls. No one will hold me back, yet one man will give me hope.

This is my fairy tale, and I’ll write my own ending. I’m Gretchen Prescott, and this is my story.

From the first day I met her, I knew she was special. She was taken; we were friends. When the dumbass didn’t realize what he had, he lost her. I suppose one man’s loss could be this man’s gain.

All I wanted was to hold her, be with her and make her mine. She deserves the best things in life, and I plan on giving them to her.

I’m Mason McDermott, and this is our story.
